Welcome

LOGOTEACHING2    Civic Engagement in Our Classrooms   |   Faculty Interest Group at Kingsborough

Welcome

Civic Engagement is now a graduation requirement for all students, there is an active Office of Civic Engagement, and 40 Kingsborough students are part of the first cohort of the CUNY Service Corp.  This FIG is designed to provide a space for faculty to explore ways in which they can support and participate in this initiative. We will focus each of our three meetings on a different academic area with the aim of bringing together people who have some experience integrating CE activities into their courses, with those who are just exploring the potential of doing so.

Led by Peter Fiume and Stuart Parker (Behavioral Sciences and Human Services) the group will also explore the issues and the processes involved in getting classes/initiatives ready to meet the KCC Civic Engagement graduation requirement. For more information or to join the group please contact Peter at pfiume@kbcc.cuny.edu, or Stuart at stuart.parker@kbcc.cuny.edu.
